KEIMYUNG COLLEGE UNIVERSITY HISTORY
Proud History of longer than Forty years and One hundred more Challenging years.
Founded in 1962 as a two-year Junior College for female students, Keimyung College University has sustained changes and developments for the better by enhancing our educational system and curriculum in response to a rapid shift of our economy from labor-intensive industrial stage to technology-intensive advanced society and further to more sophisticated knowledge-based information society. With the roles of collage getting sophisticated in line with these social and economic changes, our school changed its name to Keimyung Vocational Junior College in 1979, to Keimyung Junior College in 1989, to Keimyung College in 1998 and to Keimyung College University in 2013 respectively.
1990’s Growth Stage
Keimyung Junior College The school grew to the largest domestic Junior College, with admission of 3,000 students in 1999.
Agreement on Software Industry Development with Keimyung University and Daegu City.
Linked Education Agreement with Keimyung University.
Participated in the Consortium of Daegu Center for Development of Environmental Technology.
Establishment of Sistership with the U. S. Army 5th Supply Complex Headquarters.
Designated as one of the Best Colleges providing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises with Technical Guidance by the Office of the Small and MediumBusiness Administration.
Completion of Arts Hall(12,565㎡) and Students Hall(5,737㎡).
Campus moving from Daemyungdong to Seongseo(new address : 700 Shindang-Dong, Dalsu-Gu, Daegu).
Agreement on Linked Education Programs with Kimchun Agricultural & Technical High School, Daegu Agriculture & Forestry High School, Daegu Dongbu Technical High School and Sangseo Girl Commerce & Information High School.
Agreement on Educational, Industrial and Research-Institutional Cooperation with Sudo Industry and Dye Technology Research Institute.
Renaming of Keimyung Junior College to Keimyung Munwha College.
Establishment of Continuing Education Center as an attached facility.
The First Institution for Training Overseas Tour Conductors.
Establishment of Sistership with Murray State University, Murray, Kenturky in U. S. A.
A Ceremony of the Completion of Shattuck Hall at Sungseo Campus (9,426㎡).
